Update unetbootin for mac6/6/2023 It is easy to use and supports a myriad of platforms. It has the ability to load and install various Linux distros on Mac. I typically use UNetbootin to create bootable USB devices for server firmware updates as well as ESXi updates in environment where I do not have Update Manager running. Unetbootin (Universal Netboot Installer), is another cross-platform utility toolkit that makes a great alternative to Rufus on Mac. It looks like someone has found a workaround (I have not tried it yet): I have not spent a lot of time investigating this issue, but I can confirm that the UNetbootin operation completes on Mac, but the resulting USB device does not boot. 01: Prepare Your Stuff Insert a blank USB Double click on the file unetbootin-mac-681.dmg that you downloaded earlier Right-click and select Open unetbootin2. Click on USB->It will load->Then install Linux on the MAC hard drive using the USB HDD. Plug in the USB caddy->Turn on the MAC and when you hear the sound push and hold the Option key and the USB will appear. Creating a bootable USB using UNetbootin on Mac does not work. USB flash drives didnt make a Mac partition table, but the old HDD in a USB external hard drive enclosure did.You need to close and re-open UNetbootin to see new devices If the device is inserted after UNetbootin is started then it will not be displayed.
